The Royal Palm Hotel is a secluded hide-a-way nestling in the lush Miconia highland forests of Santa Cruz in the heart of the Galapagos Islands and adjacent to the Galapagos National Park.

The Royal Palm Hotel is a spacious and exclusive 190-hectare (480 acres) private estate, only 20 minutes drive from the bustling port town of Puerto Ayora in the Galapagos Islands.  With just 8 Casitas (Spanish for little house!) and 13 exclusive villas, our guests can enjoy privacy, space, and quiet seclusion.

Designed and crafted to complement the natural environment, this is as close to nature as you can get.  The native ferns and flora create a carpet of contrast and color that cover the gently sloping hills down to the coast and beyond. Some resident birds include owls, Darwin Short Beak Finches, Garrapatero birds, and Egrets.

The residences complement their natural surroundings and are designed for your comfort and relaxation.

The Villas sit individually within the grounds, while the Casitas are located on the Royal Fountain Circle, with verandas overlooking the Royal Palm estate.  All the rooms are well appointed with custom-made furnishings and floors of mahogany wood with super-comfortable beds and the finest luxury linens.  The rooms have everything you would expect a 5-star property offer, including Wi-Fi, LCD flat screen TVs with 15 satellite channels, minibar, tea & coffee making facilities, safe, air-conditioning, iron and board, hairdryer and private Jacuzzis.

Hotel Facilities

• The restaurant is a combination of elegant colonial style and traditional island design and offers the ultimate indoor and outdoor dining experience.  The warm mahogany furniture reflects the glow of the open fire which divides the bar and restaurant, and on warmer nights, you can enjoy the terrace under the equatorial stars.  This is a beautiful space for guests to wine and dine with spectacular views across the estate and out to the sea. The wine cellar reflects the eclectic nature of the menu and includes an extensive range of some of South America’s best wines.
• There is also a Business Center with two rooms located near reception.  The board room can seat up to 8 delegates in a boardroom style, and the other can accommodate up to 30 delegates theater style.  Both rooms have natural daylight and are available to residents and non-residents.  Facilities include Wi-Fi and use of printers and photocopiers.  Meetings are fully catered.
• In addition to an outdoor pool and Jacuzzi, the hotel has a small gym, indoor table tennis, and two hard surface tennis courts; rackets and balls are available at reception.
• For the more adventurous, there is a lava tunnel on the estate just waiting to be explored. If you want to go further afield, you can go horse riding or enjoy scenic hiking trails, jogging paths and off-road cycling routes using the hotel’s mountain bikes.  Just off the coast, you will find some of the world’s most spectacular diving and snorkeling.  Kayaking and surfing are also available.
